Discussion

KEY MESSAGE 1...Dry and tranquil weather is expected to continue into early next week.

Ridging aloft and at the surface will continue to dominate the weather across region, providing several more days of quiet weather. The rex block should remain mostly intact into early next week before slowly breaking down in favor of a more zonal pattern by the middle of next week. Seasonable temperatures through Saturday will experience on a warming trend Sunday and Monday, with temperatures warming to as much as 10 degrees above normal, with some normally warmer spots possibly approaching 70F. A weak cold front moves through Monday, but the airmass is very dry with ridging across the SW CONUS blocking any moisture return, the front will offer some cooler temperatures by Tuesday.

Aviation

Mainly VFR flight conditions will continue through the 00Z TAF period. Periods of mid and upper level cloud will pass over the region tonight, followed by mainly SKC conditions for Saturday.

Otherwise, the only issue will continue to be the possibility for late night/early morning river valley and inland lake fog that will bring localized flight restrictions where it is able to form. With mid and upper level decks possibly hanging on through a good chunk of the overnight across eastern portions of the area, the best possibility for any localized fog will be across the western Southern Tier and upper Genesee valleys late tonight, persisting through mid morning or so on Saturday. Looking back at conditions this morning, KJHW saw flight restrictions for around 30 minutes. With the very dry airmass and very similar conditions remaining in place, other than a subtle wind shift to SE'erly overnight, no more than brief impacts are expected for KJHW again late tonight into the first part of Saturday morning.

Outlook...

Saturday night through Wednesday...Mainly VFR. However, localized flight restrictions will be possible each late night/early morning owed to river valley and inland lake fog.
