Discussion
Issued at 1200 PM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
High pressure maintains solid hold on our weather for nearly the entirety of this week. The model signals we've been discussing our past few AFDs for rain chances next weekend are increasing, but the devil is in the details, specifically wrt to timing. Some deterministic modelling suggests a dry first half weekend with best incoming rain chances holding off until Saturday night-Sunday. The Blend picks up on that but may be overly broad-brushing with its precursor rain chance Saturday. We'll see how it plays out in time but that's something that offers a window of opportunity for fine-tuning given the outdoor events planned around the area next weekend.
Temperatures will be seasonally near perfect with upper 70s for highs save a few 80F readings that pop up Wed-Fri. Lows in the upper 40s/around 50F push toward 60F next weekend as dews rise with rain chances appearing; this heralds a continued A/A outlook in our 6-10 and 8-14 Temp/Pcpn projections.
Aviation
Issued at 601 PM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
VFR flight conditions are expected through the evening. Ground fog may be a factor in the pre-dawn hours. The probability for operational impacts is a little higher the further west you go (CGI/PAH/MWA/MDH compared to EVV/OWB/HVC) but is still only modest. VFR conditions are expected again on Monday with light winds.
