Discussion

Dry weather conditions continue to prevail across the region this week. Highs remain in the middle to upper 70's today, with upper 70's to lower 80's becoming common the remainder of the week. Overnight lows stay just below normal for this time of year, with middle to upper 40's over the interior and lower 50's nearer the coast through midweek. Lows more noticeably warm to well above normal late week into the weekend with middle and upper 50's over the interior and lower to middle 60's near the coast.
Upper ridging over the area through Tuesday gives way to southwest flow aloft Wednesday. After this, ridging will once again attempt to build in as we head into late week before a more pronounced trough approaches the area this weekend. Warm air advection will begin across the area late week ushering in well above normal overnight temperatures and ample moisture into the area. Some solutions are a bit intriguing with a more pronounced southern stream shortwave that might try to bring a semi-favorable overlap of shear and CAPE to the region, although this is a bit of an outlier solution at this point. Regardless, rain chances are going to increase this weekend with isolated to scattered showers and storms possible, particularly west of the I-65 corridor. A High risk of rip currents continues today, tapering to a Moderate risk Tuesday into Wednesday before potentially increasing once again to a High risk Thursday. MM/25
