Key Messages

- Early morning patchy fog potential continues near rivers and lakes.
- Dry weather dominates the forecast period, with cool mornings and pleasant afternoons each day. Afternoon relative humidity will remain on the lower side as well.
Discussion
Issued at 228 PM EDT Fri Oct 23 2026
Largely a persistence forecast as we remain on the eastern periphery of an anomalous ridge axis centered in vicinity of the Ozarks through the weekend. The ridge will slowly progress eastward, becoming increasingly centered over the forecast area by early to mid next week. However, the northern extent of the ridging will be somewhat suppressed by bouts of energy, leading to fairly steady temperature trends through the period.
High pressure and associated subsidence will continue to promote mostly clear skies and dry weather. The dry air will keep mornings cool and afternoons pleasant. Some patchy valley fog will be possible each morning, especially near rivers and lakes. Light winds will hinder any notable fire weather concerns despite low afternoon RHs.
Aviation
