Flood Watch issued October 20 at 12:46PM MDT until October 23 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

Details

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

Where: Portions of western, central, and north-central NM mainly along and west of the Continental Divide.

When: From Wednesday afternoon through late Thursday night.

Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

Additional details: - A potent Pacific storm system will draw up anomalously high moisture into the Desert Southwest, generating repeated rounds of widespread showers and thunderstorms. Fast moving thunderstorms producing locally heavy rainfall will have the ability to pass over the same areas repeatedly, threatening flash flooding. - Low-lying, poorly drained, and/or urban areas will be most susceptible to flooding. Rivers, arroyos and streams will see rises with fast flows. Minor flooding is possible along rivers. Recent burn scars may see flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
