Key Messages
1. A series of high pressure centers remain in control, providing a dry week ahead.
Discussion
KEY MESSAGE 1 DESCRIPTION...
High pressure remains south of New England today, with a weak front approaching from the north. Temps peak today, with highs pushing into the upper 60s, and even low 70s in a few spots across the south.
The weak front crosses through during the day today, bringing only the chance for a few showers across the north, and a band of clouds elsewhere. Otherwise, the front merely serves to usher in the next ridge of high pressure, which brings a cooler Canadian airmass with it. Highs fall back into the 40s and 50s for Tuesday and Wednesday, but then moderate back into the 60s again for late in the week as the high moves offshore, with some 70s possible again on Friday.
The next front likely crosses through during the day on Friday, and has the chance to bring a few showers to the area, but nothing of significance. Behind this front, the next ridge of high pressure arrives just in time for the weekend. The next ridge doesn't look to bring much of a cool down with more of a zonal flow pattern, so 60s look more likely for Halloween weekend at this point.
Aviation
Through 06z Tuesday: Mainly VFR, but some patchy valley fog is possible at LEB, RKD, and AUG through daybreak this morning. A front crosses this afternoon and evening that could bring marginal MVFR ceilings at HIE and NW of the mountains.
Outlook...
Tuesday-Thursday...Mainly VFR.
Friday: A front crosses Thursday night and Friday that could bring MVFR to the mountains. Otherwise, conditions likely stay VFR.
