As of 230 AM Monday morning, a midlevel shortwave trough was advancing northeast through portions of eastern CO. Ahead of the shortwave trough, an of low-level WAA extended from southwest KS through northeast NE. Scattered rain showers were noted within this axis of WAA. These widely scattered showers will continue this morning and this afternoon across primarily portions central and western KS. In addition to the rain showers, dew point depressions near zero combined with light easterly winds were resulting in patchy fog across central KS. Visibilities as low one-half mile are possible through sunrise. Rain chances will extend to the I-135 corridor this evening and even towards southeast KS late tonight into Tuesday morning a secondary weak shortwave trough lifts from west TX into the Ozarks. Additional rain amounts will generally be 0.25" or less with the highest amounts across central KS.
Transitioning into midweek, broad southwesterly midlevel flow will remain as another western CONUS trough deepens. Broad low and midlevel WAA may continue to yield isolated to scattered showers especially at night. By weeks-end and into next week, a series of weak perturbations may eject across the area, resulting in intermittent rain chances.
