Key Messages

- Breezy conditions are expected through the weekend.

- Rain-free conditions and near-seasonal temperatures will remain for the next 7 days, with a slight warm up by the end of the week.

Short Term

(Today through Monday) Issued at 332 AM EDT Sun Oct 25 2026

As ridging continues over the central CONUS and shifts slightly east, our area will remain in a northerly flow through Monday. A low pressure system forms off the southeast coast which will allow for air to be funneled into the Appalachians putting our area into a wedge of high pressure. This pressure gradient should result in breezy winds through this afternoon with gusts up to 20-25mph possible, especially over central Georgia. Skies will remain mostly clear with zero rain chances expected through the weekend. Temps will hover just around normal with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Dewpoints were lowered a tad through the weekend as the dry airmass stays solidly in place. RH values will be just above critical thresholds today. Winds will be just outside of critical thresholds as well. This weather pattern should be a rinse and repeat for Monday.

Long Term

(Monday night through Saturday) Issued at 332 AM EDT Sun Oct 25 2026

Little change in the forecast for the long term. While some important things in the atmosphere will be happening around the periphery of the southeast across the next week, the sensible impacts to north and central Georgia will be to keep things sunny and mostly mild with no chances for precipitation.

Upper level low that has been mostly cut off from the upper jet will continue to spin off the southeastern coastline to start the long term into Monday night. A surface low may form within this, with the primary impact being to continue our E to ENE wind direction that keeps the mild air in place. A stronger upper level trough will dive through the NE during this time period, pushing another surface high pressure across the northern Appalachians. This will settle into place there by Wednesday, pushing air down the Appalachians once again that will just reinforce our current air mass. All in all, this means repeated days of highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s to upper 50s across the entire CWA, with little to no chance of rain.

As we move towards Halloween, there is some signal of things being a touch warmer, but uncertainty remains. Model spread is upwards of 10 degrees for afternoon highs on Friday and Saturday, in part due to uncertainty around the position and timing of a wave over the Plains that could pull in warm air across much of the eastern half of the country. Stay tuned, but current forecast would put temperatures in and around the 70s to upper 60s for peak trick-or-treat hours.

Aviation

(06Z TAFS) Issued at 148 AM EDT Sun Oct 25 2026

SKC through the period. Winds will be NE to E at 5-10kt with gusts to 20kt possible through the afternoon.
