Key Messages
- Drier and warmer starting today, lasting through most of the week.
- Pattern change arrives this weekend, bringing cooler and more active weather to the region again.
Short Term
Issued at 1258 AM MDT Mon Oct 26 2026
Any lingering showers out east will dissipate by late morning, giving way to warmer and drier conditions across the region. High temperatures for today will be in the 60s out east, with 50s over the valleys. Cloud cover will decrease substantially, with relatively light winds. Overall, a warm and mild fall day. That being said, ongoing high flows across the Rio Grande and Conejos Rivers will continue for at least another few days. Conditions should be closely monitored for ongoing impacts.
Long Term
Issued at 1258 AM MDT Mon Oct 26 2026
Warm and dry through the rest of the week. Temperatures will continue to reach into the high-60s to low-70s each day over the plains and 50s in the valleys, with generally mild weather across the region.
Our next pattern change will arrive around this weekend. A broad upper trough and associated low pressure system will amplify over the Pacific Northwest, digging south and moving onshore by Saturday. Flow aloft over our area will turn southwesterly, bringing in more moisture to the mountains, and then possibly the rest of the CWA as well. There still is a lot of deviation between model solutions, so time will tell how impactful the system will actually be for our area. We should see a decent chance at some more widespread precipitation, and hopefully more snow for the mountains.
