Key Messages
Updated at 914 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
- A prolonged period of hazardous marine conditions from gusty northeast winds is expected to continue.
- Mostly rain-free persistence forecast prevails the next several days in addition to a warming trend making for unseasonably warm temperatures.
- A more progressive weather pattern appears to unfold during the first week of November.
Update
Issued at 914 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
No major changes to today's forecast were required. Satellite- derived Precipitable Water shows a wedge of dry air nosing in from NE to SW into Southern GA. This feature may cause dew points to trend lower than forecast, so those readings will be monitored. A somewhat tight pressure gradient also remains in place across the region, so occasionally breezy winds are expected today thanks to thermal mixing.
Aviation
(06Z TAFS) Issued at 1258 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
VFR TAFs through the period. SCT cirrus around 25 kft today become BKN tonight. Northeast winds around 5-10 kts will increase late this morning to around 10 kts with gusts around 20 kts, then diminish again around sunset.
Marine
Issued at 221 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
Hazardous marine conditions persist today for all Gulf waters as fresh to occasionally strong northeasterly breezes continue. Breezes become more moderate over the nearshore waters late today into tonight. However, offshore waters will likely continue to see advisory level winds through at least Thursday. Seas will remain rather rough, especially offshore where seas will remain around 4 to 7 feet.
