Forecasters' discussion
From the National Weather Service office in VEF, issued 6 hrs ago
Key Messages
* Quiet and seasonable conditions through at least Wednesday, with signs of a more active pattern returning late in the week.
Discussion
Today through Saturday.
The upper level low responsible for precipitation and cooler temperatures the last few days will track east and a zonal flow pattern will persist aloft for most of the week. This pattern will promote dry and stable conditions and seasonable temperatures. Afternoon high temperatures will be within a few degrees of normal for this time of year, which for Las Vegas means highs in the upper 70s. A pattern shift arrives towards the end of the week as a trough approaches the west coast and southwesterly flow develops over the southwestern United States. Potential changes include cooler temperatures, increased winds, and low to moderate (10 to 50 percent) chances of precipitation over Halloween weekend. Details regarding the timing and location of these impacts will become more apparent throughout the week.
