- Quiet Weather through the Weekend

The dry weather pattern continues this week under upper and surface ridging. The next chance for rain is not until early next week. A slowly progressive pattern sees the ridge being flattened by northern stream troughing early next week with a cold front bringing showers while slowly pushing south through the Great Lakes.

- Height falls with showers then cooler next week

There are some indications the front could stall near Lower Michigan with a surface low moving along it for Tuesday or Wednesday. Upper troughing follows with the potential for sharply colder temperatures for the rest of next week.

Aviation

Issued at 653 AM EDT Wed Oct 21 2026

Areas of fog and low stratus will bring IFR/LIFR early this morning then the fog should dissipate after sunrise with VFR conditions through this evening. Some fog could form again late tonight.

Marine

Issued at 202 AM EDT Wed Oct 21 2026

Winds and waves will remain relatively calm through the week then increase during the weekend.
