Discussion
KEY MESSAGE 1...Dry weather through next Thursday.
KEY MESSAGE 1 DESCRIPTION... The afternoon, a cold front is moving through from north to south, but bringing no precipitation and just some clouds. Meanwhile, a strong Noreaster is passing south/southeast of our area and helping to bring some increased winds and seas, but no precipitation.
Breezy and chilly conditions tonight into Friday, and then high pressure builds in Friday night allowing for lighter winds, with cool nights but comfortable days over the weekend.
The next cold front comes Monday, but like the cold front today, it very likely will contain little if any precipitation. Look for chilly temperatures behind the front Tuesday/Wednesday with high pressure settling in. The prolonged dry spell is very likely to persist into Thursday of next week.
Aviation
Rest of Today...VFR, except intermittent MVFR cigs near GNR and higher terrain. N winds 10-15kts gusting 25kts.
Tonight-Friday...VFR. N winds 10-20kts, gusting to 20-30kts. LLWS at FL020 all terminals from 01035-45kts tonight.
Friday night-Sunday night...VFR. Light NW winds through Saturday, becoming WSW 5 kts Sunday.
Monday and Tuesday...Mainly VFR. W/SW winds 5-15kts shifting NW Monday night and Tuesday.
